Support for the hard of hearing, late deafened, and profoundly deafened people
The Rev. Sheila C. Shuford, Deacon, is a retired chaplain, trained bereavement facilitator, and advocate for the deaf and disabled. Sheila’s personal life experience includes progressive loss of hearing ranging from hearing, hard-of-hearing, late-deafened and now profoundly deaf. Her hard-won experience now allows her to share her knowledge of alternate communication skills, resources, help networks, and advocacy experience to provide compassionate care and support for people who may be experiencing the frightening process of hearing loss or deafness.
If you are experiencing progressive hearing loss and are facing the frightening possibility of total loss of hearing, perhaps having a conversation with Sheila may be the place to start. You may contact The Rev. Sheila Shuford via email: firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a message with our Parish Administrator in the Church Office at 973-366-2772 (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 9:30-12:00).
Rev. Shuford is also on the Board of Trustees at The House of the Good Shepherd in Hackettstown.
